Futsal Tournament at Walnut Creek

Event Description

Get ready for an exhilarating day of futsal at the Bay Club Walnut Creek! This tournament will bring together 12 teams in a fast-paced 5v5 format with players battling it out through group stages and knockouts to claim victory. Whether you're a seasoned player or just looking to have some fun, this event will provide plenty of excitement and competition.

Tournament Format

• Team Structure: 5 players on the field (including 1 goalkeeper) and up to 2 substitutes (7 players total per team).
• Game Format: 5v5 futsal matches.
• Match Duration: 7 minutes of playing time + 3 minutes of rest between matches.
• Number of Teams: Up to 12 teams divided into 2 groups of 6 teams each.
• Group Stage: Each team will play 5 round-robin matches against others in their group.
• Knockout Stage: The top 3 teams from each group advance to the knockout stage based on points and goal difference.

Knockout Stage Details

• Advancement to Knockout: A total of 6 teams will advance to the knockout stage.
• Matchups:
  • The highest-ranking team from the group stage will face the lowest-ranking qualifying team, continuing in a similar pattern (e.g., 1st vs 6th, 2nd vs 5th, etc.).
  • Winners of these matchups will move on to the semifinals.
• Semifinals & Finals: The winners from the knockout stage will progress to the semifinals.
• Points System: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.

Special Rules

• Winning Criteria: The first team to score 2 goals wins the match regardless of the remaining time.
• Tiebreaker in Group Stage: If a match ends in a draw, both teams receive 1 point.
• Tiebreaker in Knockout Stage:
  • If a knockout match is tied after 7 minutes, there will be a 3-minute sudden death overtime.
  • If still tied, a penalty shootout (3 penalties per team) will decide the winner.
• Substitutions: Unlimited substitutions are allowed but must occur during stoppages or when the ball is out of play.
• Fair Play: Aggressive fouls or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in immediate ejection from the match and possible team disqualification.

Prize Distribution

The tournament will feature two types of prizes:

• Cash Prize: Sponsored by Waimut Inc.
  • 1st Place: 60% of the total prize pool
  • 2nd Place: 25% of the total prize pool
  • 3rd Place: 15% of the total prize pool

For example, with 50 participants, the registration fees would total $500, making the prize pool $1000:

• 1st Place: $600

• 2nd Place: $250

• 3rd Place: $150

• Bay Club One-Day Pass: The winning team will also receive a complimentary Bay Club one-day pass granting access to all facilities at the Bay Club Walnut Creek.

Note: All prizes are sponsored by Waimut Inc., an event planning and social app. This sponsorship is not related to Bay Club, which is only providing the venue for the tournament.

To register for the tournament, each player must reserve their ticket individually through the Waimut app (iOS, Android). No other registration methods will be accepted, and spots are limited, so please reserve your ticket as soon as possible to secure your place!
